What's the difference between branded and unbranded questions?

A branded question is a question that names the brand being examined, while an unbranded question is a question that does not name it.

Named-brand questions test what a system can say when given the identity. Unnamed questions examine whether it introduces that brand for a relevant need.

The question types should not be treated as interchangeable. Strong recognition can coexist with weak discovery.
