What is a brand mention?
A brand mention is an explicit reference to a brand in an answer or other content.
The reference may be a recommendation, a passing example or a warning. Its surrounding wording determines what the mention communicates.
Counting names alone can obscure these differences. A mention also does not prove that the brand's website was used as a source.
